    another oil question

ok. today i was out getting the ski ready for the trip i am going on tom morning. was looking around and saw that an oil hose was off. tried to fix it, it was to short. then i came to the conclusion that the first and third cylinder lines had been switched and the first fell off. so i go to pull the third line of and the nipple broke. so i blocked of the hose so i would not lose any oil. i have it zip tied up to the neck on the tank. so does anybody and a spare flame assister base. or have the nipple thing for it?

I have a whole FA base with nipples. I'm in NE Texas (Texarkana) but it won't get there tomorrow! Run mix in the meantime.

You can certainly run pre-mixed oil in the fuel until you get that oil line repaired. Run 40:1 ratio.

Be sure to mix enough oil for the entire gas tank, but first mix the measured oil into a gallon or so of fuel, then add that fuel+oil blend to the fuel tank.

The cylinders that still have the oil lines hooked will of course smoke more since they are getting double the oil, but the engine will survive just fine.

Don't simply disconnect and cap all the oil lines, as then the oil pump will be trying to pump oil against the resistance of the capped lines, and it could damage something, or create a big oil mess in the hull.

Cap off the broken nipple, and cap off the loose oil line. You don't want an air leak from there into the engine, and you don't want the pump pushing oil into the hull.
