Installing my LC-1--and have a question

I'm fairly mechanically inclined I'm not really electrically inclined (at all).

Question is where should I get a switched 12 volt 5 amp source on my ski for the power supply for my LC-1?

This is step 4 on my instructions and already progress is stopped. I've seen this same setup on other ski's here--guess I'll be smarter after it's installed. Other ski's have the momentary push button and LED installed in the cup holder compartment (feel gay just typing that). Is that the best mount location?

Wow, does this actually use 5amps. Thats a lot of current draw for a gauge.

It also drives the heater for the O2 sensor.

Craig, check out this thread and use the switched 12v wire I used for the boost gauge. You will need to run it to a relay just like beerdart said due to all the amps the 02 sensor pulls.

30 goes to 12v battery positive

85 goes to switched 12v positive.

    86 goes to ground

    87 goes to LC1 positive

You can also ground the LC1 to 86

Edit I posted the switched source for a seadoo. Disregard the purple at the starter relay. Follow Jerry's post for the switched power.

I use the same system for running an additional bilge.

    http://www.ado13.com/techs/relay.htm

    I use this relay. http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...rds=cb1a-m-12v

Also it is a good idea to run a fuse.
