    Rotax Racing front engine mount

Ok, i know this is a high quality part that probably does a lot for driveline stability and wear ring life but $285? C'mon, that has to be WAY over the cost of production. I was wondering if anyone had good close up pics of it or if it comes apart in any way (like the rubber part). I would like to see if i can make one or have a machine shop make one for me.

I agree 100 percent, the price of it is rediculous.

I'm sure it's simple in construction as well. I just want to know if the rubber part goes down inside the aluminum part. I'm sure if i recreated the stock mount in aluminum almost all the way up to where the rubber stops and then added a 3/4" urathane pad on top, drilled a hole in both, and tapped treads into the hole in the aluminum, it would work almost identical. This thing could probably be recreated for less than $100.

Look at the XSPOWER intercooler. That thing is WAY cheaper than Riva's or RR and has been a hit. Proof positive that high price is not always an idication of quality or performance.

I`m with ya too and was planning this winter on sending mine out to have a billet one cut. These are just beyond overpriced. I`d rather total lock down on the front anyway to help driveline. There was not extensive R&D on this part. Trust me. I`ve done runout on too many vessels in my day. Billet for me.

I don't care, it works for me and saves me wear rings. It is a solid piece of alum.

It's actually not a solid piece of aluminum. Its an aluminum shell filled with urethane so there is still some engine dampening.
