    SBT 4 Tec engines

I just found out SBT now sells "refurbished" 4 tec engines and figured maybe this is my chance to get that SCIC engine i've been wanting. I've also been hearing about their reputation. Anyone care to comment? And does anyone know if the SC engine they have, the one with forged pistons? $2,300 isn't too bad considering how hard used engines are to come by and for what price they usually go for.

post this in the "anything goes" section. I have heard good and bad about their engines, so I'm not sure.

dont go with an sbt engine unless youre planning on selling your boat real soon.

SBT engines would not even be worthy of a boat anchor, not less 2300 of your hard earned money

2300 for a rebuilt 4 tec? Thats cheap. Do they sell motors that need a rebuild? I would love one to start working on. Anyone got a 4tec for sale?

We use these engines at work when we blow ours and they are not the best engine by any means. We have had problems with them many times, but we did have some that lasted pretty long. But again we are a rental place and they do get the **** beat out of them by customers.

SBT is junk, my buddy bought a GTI LE with an STB engine in it and it took a crap only after 30 hrs....so he got a new SEADOO motor for only 900 complete
