    What ski to buy?

I have always been a seadoo fan... and now I'm thinking about buying a smaller wave-jumper. What is a good and fun ski? It has got to be newer then 1998
    I'm looking at a 04 xpdi, 99 xp, 98 xp limited and a 01 xp....
Help me out guys!! What is the ultimate wave-jumper??

How are the yami gpr compared?

98-99-spx 800 is the best wave jumper, the other models are heavier and not as much fun to throw around in the surf. All those model seadoo's that you listed are the same hull and engine except one is direct injection. (951)

98-99 spx 800 is around 56-58mph the XP 951 engines area around 60-61mph. The XP 951's ride like a Caddy or a BMW compaired to the 98-99spx 800 but you can't jump them as well as the X-4 hulls.

    Thanks

So the x4 is the old hull?
I would like to get past 60mph... I'm used to RXPs only, so i guess any of those 2-strokes would feel nimble compared to that heavy RXP

How are the carbed skis compared to the injected ones?

the x-4's didnt come in a RFI. You can pipe this ski with the stock carbs and prop it up to get to maybe 62. trust me. you dont want to go much faster on this hull it starts to get unstable around 70 and thats with a heavily modded 951 swap. This ski rides like a street bike and jumps like a moto-cross bike. tons of fun

fuel wise...its ok. you got 8 gallons with 110hp. fuel range...20 miles WOT.

    heres your baby Trond

For some maybe but have you ever tried a flat turner 800 in 10ft + surf see how well they go then. They come unhooked all the time and will go sideways too easily if their is some cross wind component.

If you get a intake grate that would solve that issue, DAMN those waves are huge!! lol, I see waves that big in Nov in Michigan but the water is too cold to ride in. You would pretty much ruin your day hitting those waves with an X-4 hull! as for jumping with the 951 xpl hull, well i wouldn't want 560lbs falling on me when i wiped out..they stress crack real easy in the footwells when you go out jumping, trust me i use to have a 97xp which is the same hull and that biatch cracked all over the place. Hey Surf when the x-4 starts to go sideways that's when you do a 180' knifestab bro!
