    Hello, new guy with a few questoins

    Hello, I have a '97 gp1200. It has a new top end with 85mm wiseco's, ada head 40cc domes, has some stuff done to carbs,f/a's, and a few other small things.

    I have a few questions. My first is I came across a Pro-Tec intake manifold. Looks a little taller than stock, pic included. If I use this manifold will I need to do anything to carbs? They have 110 high and low jets and pop off is at 39-40. Should I use this intake without having pipes? As I thought more air in needs to let more air out? Ski runs good now and don't want to mess it up.Any thoughts would be great. Thanks

    Intake won't change anything in terms of jetting ....bolt it on and pressure test...and ride =0)

    Pro tec is a good intake manifold no changes needed to run it.
    I pm'd you about your ADA head I would like to buy it or trade you for it I have been looking for almost 2 months for one.
    Call me lets talk 630 202 6472.
    Your 110 high and 110 low seems a little odd to me 110 low and 135 high might work better imo.
    Stock highs are 135.

    Thanks for the quick replies. PM replied to. Now I need to get some hardware for it.
    Yeah the jets seemed odd to me also but I don't know a whole lot about jetting. I bought the ski in 2000. It had a pro-tec head,some carb work done, and f/a's. Always ran strong. I rode it a few years and then it sat stored properly for 6+ years.
    This year I got it out and a friend who knows a lot more than me helped me go through it. Has 86hrs on it. We did a new top end and ada head.My friend had to go back overseas and was not there to help with the carb rebuilds.
    I have only got about 3hrs on it and have not got into it a whole lot yet. It seems to run just as strong if not stronger.
    Should I change to the 135? Is the 110 bad to run? Has 1.5 needle and seat and pop-off is 39-40. I also have a riva long ride plate to put on Before my friend left he was saying might be time to upgrade grate and impeller. Is this right? The grate looks stock so I would assume the impeller is also. What impeller and grate are best to use?
