    Rotax Racing Hydraulic Shaft kit

    Hey Guys,

I have a ET70-145 on the way and i was wanting to know peoples experiences with the Rotax Racing shaft etc.

There is little info regarding this and am wondering how it works??

Clutch life before this mod and after??

Would this charger be able to handle rough conditions if it has this kit?

This kit is actually pretty cheap at the moment.

Oce you install the 3rd bearing in the PTO you can only use Rotax Racing shaft, you can also buy just a extra Rotax Racing shaft for aprox $250 for you'r second charger.

    Thanks RXP6...

Will this charger be alright in CC with the Rotax Racing shaft or will the 08 oiling mod be ok?

How much does it cost to install the third bearing? From what i thought it was cheap for the shaft but the third bearing install was expensive.
Also whats the clutch life with this setup???

I have been running this setup for 2 seasons now without as much as adjusting it.I got so tired of rebuilds after as little as 1 hour sometimes that i switched over to the rotax system.I could never understand why none of these high boost chargers are not offered with the rotax system since clutch failure seems to be one of the most common problems.I have been tempted to change my washers and bearings in one of mine but afraid to change them since this charger just keeps on pumping.....For me its a no brainer changing over to this system and has saved me heaps of dough and time off the water.

i haver always offered the RR three bearing clutch kit as an option in our chargers but it is an $800 upgrade so not everybody jumps on it. they work fantastic. once they are broken in and reset they stay where you set them especially now with the new RR coated washers. 50 to 60 hard racing hours is not uncommon before a reset.

Guys does the PTO engine cover needs to be machined for this mod ?...and for how much and who does this type of job ?....

Yes the pto cover needs to be machined and once you switch over to the rotax system you cannot run the stock shaft.Perry performance group does this mod as do most other racer orientated shops. It was the best money I ever spent switching over to the rotax system...
