Question about reverse bucket?
I have a question about if I should remove my reverse bucket or keep it on. During the summer I race my ski, and random ride for fun. I installed a new nozzle with a 81mm ring, 15/20 prop, intercooler, and sc wheel. Will it make any different if I keep it on or take it off? Thanks guys!

I have mine off. If you never use reverse why keep it on? I think the less crap back there the better.

Its really your preference..If you want to keep the reverse bucket, then you can do the reverse bucket mod for racing..

Yea I was kinda thinking of keeping it off for race season, and then if I need it when we joy ride then just put it back on since its not that hard to take off, I just did not know if it made a difference in my performance.

Will there be a performance difference if I leave the bucket on compared to off??

When removing the bucket, what are you suposed to do with the rod on the left side that controlls the bucket? Does it just unscrew from the hull, or do you leave it in and connect it to something else? I can get everything off and removed, just dont know what to do with that rod?

My '04 RXP hasn't had reverse on it since I got it in '07, but i'm putting it back on tonight. The stock 1800 rpm idle makes it a pain in the ass to launch and recover with no "neutral".
To answer your question, yes the rod should just unscrew from the boss and you'll have to make a plug to cover the boss back up.
