Removal of Chrome on Plastic Side parts
I want to paint my side parts black, and I am trying to remove the chrome. I tried bleach, worked a little, but a lot of it is still there. I have also sand blasted one, and i melted the plastic in some areas. It was also a pain to do it that way. Any Ideas?

Just order the 3 piece trim for an 07 RXP SC... they have black trim. You could have painted over the chrome by just lightly sanding it... but it sounds like it's to late to save it now.

You're going overboard trying to remove the chrome. Get a red scuff pad from a body supply or shop or Pep boys or even one of those kitchne sponges with the scuffy side and just scuff it. It'll take about five minutes. You don't have to go crazy. Then get it painted. Preferably by a body shop because they have the good base coats and clears that really make it adhere. I've done it in my bud's body shop and it works great.

I have painted mine a couple of times. Just a light sanding first does it.

just get black ones of the 07 rxp $111 dollars and you get a much better finish
i am currently doing this to my ski to go with the new paint scheme
i have also been told that the chrome is electronically charges to help with the chrome finish which affects the out come when sprayed
