Where does this go ?
today i went for my first ride as a newbie.
after finishing the washing i found near the back of the ski a small metal thing. i think this is used in order sea doesn't eat up the metal things of the ski. it is a small 5x1,5 cm metal thing. where has this come off from ?and how can I install it back ?

Ski type would also help... it appears to be an anode, but shouldn't be on the inside of the ski... is this where you found it

it is an anode, but I didn't know how it was called in English. yes i found it behind the pto eventhough I had thoroughly washed the ski with a pressure machine for more than two times. my ski is a 2003 GTX SC non IC

is there any possibility that the bolts loosened off beccause I spray with WD40 the engine and metal parts of my ski ?

It's called a sacrificial anode. It is sacrificed to corrosion so the salt water electrolosis effect doesn't attack the other metal on the pump components and nuts and bolts of the ski so they don't get eaten. It's sorta like bait. It gets eaten so the rest of the metal parts in the salt water don't. If it looks like crap it's corroding and doing its job protecting the metal parts at your pump. Just keep an eye on it and replace it every season.

I had one of those, i don't recall any anodes in the engine compartment...the pump didn't even have 'em then(they we're composite plastic pumps)could a previous owner have installed one??
