    engine locked up---starter????

    new here, saying hello

    i have a 06 gp1300,would not turn over took everything apart cleaned and reassembled piston,cylinders,head,manfold,prop. everthing good did not take starter off and engine will not move

    do you think starter lock up ?????? best way to check and thing else to look at

    Pull the pump and make sure that is not your problem. Stuck prop or swelled wear ring?Lee

    Had prop, off could not manual turn engine

    Did you pull the spark plugs at that time?

    Had engine down to crankshaft could not spin it had water in it last year so i striped every thing down, it want to start turn once and locked up

    yes plugs off and cylinders, head and pistons,--- sorry if im not explaining it well

    if you cant turn it over by hand and you had it torn down to the crank you answered your own question your crank bearings are shot time to get a new crank. the water you got in it last year rusted the crank bearings and now there locked up. Ron

    crank was moveing freely until i try to start it and crank & connecting rod needle bearing looked great

    While its porb not it I would remove the starter. I once had a old 701 lock up because the bendex ruuuuusted up and locked in the engaged posistion.

    thats what happen freed it up got it to turn over--- thanks guys
