Pump Grease ??
OK OK I know what I'm "supposed" to use. But it is
as expensive as hell AND not locally available to me.
So, I am rebuilding 3 pumps and need to find a substitute
that I can locate at auto parts store, etc.
I am not sure if using a High Quality automotive wheel bearing
grease is acceptable.
Been googling synthetic greases, etc to try and find something
I think would work.
Found 1 made by Royal Purple that "might" work. Says
it's good for bearings, etc
ANYONE find a good 1 that works???

A freind of mine that owns a jetski shop has used Bel-Ray waterproof grease for years. I use Amsoil 75-140 Gear oil.

I prefer a liquid such as gear oil instead of a grease.
I use Royal Purple Synfilm 68

Use whatever you want - I've used regular lithium, gear oil, regular oil and the expensive low temp stuff. you shouild check your pump every year anyway to make sure it's not contaminated or has other problems.

Can anybody post pics about what exactly you're talking about? I've been doing my own maint. for two seasons now... changing the plugs/oil/filter and just had the superchargers rebuilt, and coolant flush/changed. They run great, but am I missing something

Make sure you get out all of the old grease. The new seadoo grease does not like to mix with other greases. You need to make sure what grease is being used in anything you have if you are going to change it, since all greases do do not like to mix well with each other and you can cause a bearing failure.

Good point with the mixxing of greases.
You guys that have went to liquid 75-140...
Do you just dis assemble everything... Clean...
then fill bearings and all with gear oil???
Then in the cone, I guess thats just for the overflow???
There is no "fill" hole on the 4 tec pumps.
