Please help clarify whats required to run a rude 3
I have heard everything from the delphi/riva 50# injectors lock up @ 65 psi of fuel pressure to the stock fuel pump cant supply enough pressure to the rrfpr.
Will somebody simply tell me whats required for the rude 3?
rude fuel controller?
Comon guys lay it out here for all to see.

I have never heard of the 50's locking up at 65psi. I run way more than that and seems to be fine.
A friend has locked his 60lb injectors though but that was nearly at 100 PSI.
You would need the following
Riva 50lb Injectors
Walbro Fuel Pump
3Rude with 08 oil mod
Decent Air Intake and maybe Exhaust.
Big set of balls...
This would be a safe setup and prob good for low to mid 80's.
Highly recommeded to get a Air/fuel meter and double check afr's.
You could use a stock ECU but you then need some kind of fuel controller to take fuel at down low and a very steep prop. IMO its not worth it.

see below ..riva injectors dont like the pressure...i run boch IS SEROES 50# With a riva ecu you w 60 lbs of base pressure you willl be at like 11 af at idle only as soon as you are 500 rmp off idle you wil be fine ..a rude controler fixes it ...but not required ot you can just run good injectors and a rude controler no rrrfpr

Joe, I have seen JD1 Run the 3 rude with 50's and his open loop cooling set up, but not real sure on fuel pressure with the RRFPR. It ran extremly well in the upper 80's. I believe it to be a combo of the cool engine temps allowing the ecu to dump more fuel. Ofcoarse I do not know what the A/F was, but Dan has set up many set ups like this.
My opinion would be to get the Rude controler and work with Nls. Jerry, or cal and set it up that way. I know how much cash is in your boat and it gets ugly real quick with so many re=builds.

Im still in the process of dialing mine in but ive upgraded to a Riva ecu, 50s, walbro pump and Rude3. Ive got the RRFPR set at 60 and im in the high 12s AFR. I would have turned up the pressure some but had an issue and had to come in befor I could tune some more. But the setup will definatly work.
