Gtx Di and Gtx Carb Fuel Tank

I am looking to swap the parts from my 99 gtx ltd to a 01 gtx di hull I have. The only concern I have the the gas tank and fuel sending unit. Anyone have any information on my best route to take with this?

Be sure and swap out fuel lines even if they look good on outside,I have found that alcohol resistant 5/16ths works great in the 951 swap outs,JMHO>Marvin

Is there really a difference in the gtx and gtx di hulls?

no difference in the hulls. the 02 gtx-di had a hull change but the carbed gtx kept the 'older' style hull.

They '02 carbed GTX kept the "Better" hull, Jay. .

'02 GTX DI is a 4-tec hull (and there after as the '02 GTX was the last of the great Gen-II GTX hull) and only good for maybe 48mph on a good day (50 if you are going down some rapids).

So, if you are swapping the engine over looking for some kind of gain, do not bother.

So its the same hull, with different seats and looks like a hood with different trim, will this all transfer over to the 99. The hood looks to be the biggest difference.

Oh yeah, you are going from a '99. Did not let that sink in.

The '98/'99 GTXL was just slightly different. The hull is shorter by an inch (ish) and the hood did not have the fairings on the side that cover the fuel cap and the valve. There is also a fairing under the hood on the '00-'02. I think they are the same in the beam, though if they do differ, it will not be by much.

The seat should be pretty much the same though I can not remember if the '99 had the pads on the side for the driver's legs.

The '98/'99 is a bit lighter too, though again, not by much.

They also put a different kind of reverse bucket on the '00s.

Do you know if any of this transfers over to the 99 hull?

    Uh, what do you mean?

Are you asking if you can put the hood and stuff on the '99? Not sure. As far as the engine and associated systems then yes, all of that would go in the '01 from the '99. It would probably be best to do it that way. Take the whole thing, tank, harness, ect and move it to the '01 since the DI electrics were different (while a carbed '01 would have been pretty much the same stuff).
