    MB Trail Rides...

Unknowingly, Lasportsmn and myself both spent some time on the water this weekend checking out some possible trails:

First, Lasportsmn found a route I had navigated once before, but never totally connected end-to end. I hinted about it to him a few weeks ago, while totally doubting anyone could find their way through... he has once again proven me wrong.

It's a twisty, sneaky little ride that looks like it hits a dead-end, only to pop you out into civilization at the last moment... Will it happen for this MB, who knows? - the trail can be "undone" by high or low water w/ no notice. If it's too low, part of the trail can't be navigated; if it's too high, your bike won't clear a bridge.

We'll know more about this come early June, but Congrats to Lasportsmn

As far as myself... I took my daughter (home on the weekend from college) to the marsh for some fishing. The fishing sucked, but we had fun spending time w/each other and marking some trails.

I was unsure about some of the turns, but the locals were out as the spring air was warm. Anytime I needed directions they would smile, showing their pearly whites, and point us in the right direction. Here's a few pix I snapped:

A few more of the locals...

These guys were out at every turn... Oh, btw, we are very serious in South Louisiana about private property rights. When we say keep out - we mean it!

Where is this "trail" you guys are talking about? I am thinking you guys are talking about riding down Bayou Drive? Is that right?

The one Lasportsmn recently discovered does indeed include Pierre Part By... But, we've got hundreds of miles mapped out in the following areas: Lake V, P & G/Belle R - North, Central, South (Marsh) Spillway - Blind, Diversion, Amite & Blind Rs.

Please feel free to join us.

Lasportsmn & I have a discussed this a little; of course, our schedules (work, families, weather...) are subject to change, but we feel the Amite/Blind/Lake M. run will take place early Wed. afternoon.

I've talked to him also about an alternate launch point that is different from last year, but we are yet to make that ride together. There are still some logistics (fuel) to work out as I feel this ride will be about 75 miles, if altered from last year.
