    please help

    can someone help iwent to home depot today to get shims for plate i wanted the .030 but i couldnt find them got like 3/8 washers is that the same thing

    this is what it is with 2 washers together can anyone tell me what this is, and are they close to .030

    1 washer looks like it's aprox 1/16" or .062

    Yep so basicly those washers are twice as thick as you need. R88

    that means1 washer is half of 1/16

    Both washers together are 1/8 of an inch. They fill the space between the two lines and on your school straight edge there are 8 lines per inch therefor one washer is 1/16 of an inch thick or 0.0625. If they were 1/16 together then there would be 16 lines between the 1 and the 2.

    This is a 1/16 of 1 inch ruler. Note there are 16 lines between the 0 and the 1 inch mark.

    HD and lowes have cheap digital micrometers also that would give you a better reading than the ruler.
