No More Sea-Doo Warranty in Florida?

I have been informed by a local dealer that he believes very soon, maybe April 1st, the B.E.S.T. warranty for Sea-Doo will no longer be sold in Florida, and as a dealer they will offer a third party warranty. Has anyone else heard anything about this or have any more details?

That's not good news. I hope those of us that paid for can still use it.

No kidding, this could be a deal breaker for me; last time I had to settle for 4 years because I live in Florida; I understand Yamaha is still offering total of 5 years coverage here; I was hoping to get some feedback from some dealers with this thread, anyone got news on this?

Let's get that up so everyone can read it...

    "Dear BRP Dealer:

Following the decision of our insurance company to withdraw its support surrounding the sales of extended warranty coverage to customers located in the State of Florida, we regret to inform you that as of March 20, 2010, BRP will no longer be able to offer for sale BRP Extended Service Terms (B.E.S.T.) in the State of Florida. Consequently, as a Florida-based BRP dealer, you will no longer be authorised to offer and sell B.E.S.T. coverage to your customers.

Please be assured that all contracts purchased in the State of Florida and currently in effect – as well as those purchased up to March 19, 2010 – will be honoured for the duration of the coverage stipulated in the contract.

Finally, BRP and its Florida dealers are still able to offer long term coverage as a BRP Limited Warranty as part of a promotion with sale of a vehicle. We would like to remind you that when the BRP Limited Warranty coverage applies, you must not charge a deductible on repairs.

We thank you for your cooperation in this matter."

    Product Manager, Parts and B.E.S.T.

Hmmm, what if you were to move to another state, can you then buy it after the sale? Also, What if someone bought B.E.S.T and then moved to FL?

    Not a surprise

Florida has some tough warranty laws..I've dealt with thier regualtions a few times, note that florida is often mentioned specific in many warranty disclaimers.
