What is the best strainer for my riva intercooler

I want to install a strainer so that I could try to save my intercooler from cloggin. Could someone please tell me the make and model of which is the best one and some info on where to place the strainer on my 05 RXP.

    Thanks

    Peter

I got the one from RIVA it think it's a shurflow or something like that. Keep an eye on the screen that comes with the strainer I've seen some in the store that are big enough to let fine particles through and you don't want that. The screen that came with mine is fine enough to stop even sand from getting through.

here are some pics of my setup

You do need to buy new fittings with the RIVA one 3/4 barb to 1/2 pipe.

Absolutely the best strainer is a Groco WSB-750. 3/4'NPT ports, 40 mesh #304 SS basket, made of nylon (not plastic) and pressure rated. You can get them at West Marine or direct from www.groco.net These do not break. You won't believe the junk that gets filtered out before getting into your intercooler (or engine w/o closed loop system).

The body of the Groco is nylon, but the bowl is still plastic...

The bowl is made of extremely heavy gauge material. I think it is nylon, but I'm not a chemist so I won't argue with you. If screwed on properly and not cross threaded, it will never break. The other strainers have been known to break just by tightening the bowl with too much torque.

"White Nylon strainer head and clear plastic sight glass."

I'm not a chemist either- just going by what it says on their website. Anyhow, I checked a 750 out at West Marine and was not as impressed by the quality of it as you guys are. Not too many choices out there though...
