    OPERATION
    Factory REV limiter is an internal circuit incorporated into the ECU to restrict engine's maximum rotational speed. This is usually carried out to prevent damage to the engine, however sometimes these devices are fitted to prevent an engine reaching the point at which it develops maximum power. This technique is applied on late models because of emission control or on those engines are used for racing purposes; manufacturer wants to get rid of warranty claims resulted by misuse of the current vehicle. This is understandable and operator must be aware of basic rules applicable in case of heavy duty using.

    Limiters works by interrupting the power that is distributed to the spark plugs, this prevents the engine from operating above a pre-determined RPM level known as the red-line. On stock engines the RPM level that results with the spark being arrested is a constant level. REV-PRO module can be adjusted quickly and easily to achieve the appropriate RPM limit for different situations.

    A voltage-controlled crystal oscillator is used when the frequency of operation needs to be adjusted by a relatively small amount or when exact frequency or phase of the oscillator is critical, or, by applying a varying voltage to the control input of the oscillator, to disperse radio-frequency interference over a range of frequencies to make it less objectionable.

    INSTALLATION

    Installation needs medium level skill in soldering and electronics. Installation and adjustment is simple it takes 30-60 minutes for a professional and 60-120 minutes for a beginner.

    Before purchase dismantle your ECU and check whether you are able to remove the silicon seal - applied on some models - from inside because you need to access to the factory quartz crystal.

    PLEASE READ INSTALLATION STEPS BEFORE PURCHASE.

    WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND HAVING A CERTIFIED TECH INSTALL THIS UNIT if owner does not have sufficient expertise. Thank you.

    EASY STEPS OF INSTALLATION:
    1. Start and allow the engine to warm up to operating temperature.
    2. Turn off the ignition key.
    3. Find the Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
    4. Disconnect the terminal(s).
    5. Remove ECU's cover and open it up.
    6. Find the crystal oscillator (quartz) in it and solder it out.
    7. Drill a hole onto the cover with diameter 8 mm (0,315"). Locate the hole at the best position to lead out the wire from the ECU.
    8. Solder this quartz to the pins inside the RPM control device (no polarity).
    9. Contact the red wire to ignition + 12V outside the ECU.
    10. Contact the black wire to the ground (-12V) outside the ECU.
    11. Slip in the white cable through the hole you drilled. Use of rubber grommet recommended.
    12. Find a mass point within the ECU (screws) and contact the black wire to one of them.
    13. You have to find the signal point of quartz therefore solder the signal wire to any point of the original quartz within the ECU.
    14. Cover the ECU.
    15. Start the engine (timing is in factory status). If engine start, stop it and screw up the ECU. If not so resolder the signal wire of the chip to the other point of the stock crystal oscillator and try again.


    Recognition of crystal oscillator within the ECU is very easy. You may find some sample image how they look like. If you are not sure just send a good resolution photo and we help you to locate it. Please keep in mind crystals have no polarity.

    PROGRAMMING WITH ONE FINGER
    1. Start and allow the engine to warm up to operating temperature.
    2. Press button N°1 (brown) to reduce and N°2 (blue) to increase the RPM limit. Rev up the engine and view the tachometer to check the result.
    3. During the adjustment LED will be flashing proportionately with the frequency until RED LED blows out when you reach the maximal or minimal limit.
    If you want to restore factory RPM limit, just press both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

    How do you get the rubber crap off the stock ECU.
    Need I post what the ECU looks like with plastic cover off.
    Those Ebay pics shown in the installation instructions are not of the stock ECU out of a 250/260.

    I'm thinking thats what your stock ECU will look like after reinstallation. Thinking i would vote no on the magnum, but thats my own thoughts.
