    Whats under your seat cover?

I have 3 seats for the pro. this one was trashed so i took it apart to see what and how its made up. Someone has cut this bottom somewhat to make room for something under the seat. maybe carbs F/A's not sure.

Gives ya a chance to see whats under the seat you sit on.. Not sure if this foam is original to the Pro from the factory. It had a different seat cover on it. But it clips on the same as the other Pro seats.

Nope. doesnt stink 1 bit. not wet. its neprene foam looks like, doesnt hold water. hey cliffy, I got those seats with my Pro.. I didnt get them seperately.

Iv'e watched a guy make a seat out of foam once, it was pretty neat. he used a makita tool like an electric knive to cut the foam. it worked great. Then added different foams for different surfaces.. pretty neat ..

Yeah ive seen the process on some of the speed shop Discovery TV programs and Custom my ride. Its clever how they shape it with a eletric jigsaw cutter and add different foam for padding etc

Thats why i though that had some work down due to the different colouring in foam, i would of thought Polaris would of had a foam mold to pour the foam into pre shape jobby

It may just have been that way. then it shrunk, then someone recovered it with a new cover and added the additional blue foam to fill in gaps where the foam shrank originally.

I heard that happened to the seats. the foams shrinks inside and leaves a gap. My other seat has that problem.. this one actually fit tight to the seat. just the cover rotted away. I bet it wasnt a sunbrella material!.

That foam will hold water and it will stink!!

When I recovered the Hurricane seat a few weeks ago I had to leave the foam sitting out it in the sun to bake for about a week before I put the cover back on. I bet that thing lost a good 5 pounds of water weight!

The Pro 785 foam was designed to not hold water. Unfortunately, as already mentioned it did shrink a lot. That is why every original Pro 785 seat cover, fits so loosely.

Here's a pic of the original seat with the foam that shrank. Polaris chose a special light weight foam for racing, Unfornately it shrinks.
