J Pipe VERSUS Straight Pipe on RXPX / RXTX ????

After analyzing and looking at the S3 Rotax Racing Setup in this thread ...

    http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthre...ight=race+hull

Has anyone tested the difference between the straight pipe versus the "J" Pipe in an RXPX or RXTX ???

Getting ready to order me up some parts!

    Thanks guys!

You want to keep your stock midpipe setup. I would not down grade to a J pipe.

I m really pleased I upgraded my 07 RXP (J-pipe, gutted stock box) to a 08 style exhaust (straight pipe, custom shorty box, thru hull)
more power, sounds awesome , saves weight, and cleans the hull

more power is BS ! as the J-pipe with the ROTAX RACING waterbox has more performance as the new 08 style, but the new waterbox cleans the hull, and the performance difference is small

No. exhaust restriction is no bullshit. I picked up 40-80 rpm on average 10 next rides after install.
40 rpm may be shit to you but to me it s good enough, especially since it s free as i made my waterbox myself.
how much do you sell your rotax racing box?

The box in that hull is a racing box, and was designed/built to work with the Jpipe. That pipe and box work well for THAT installation...Plus I've been able to make adjustments to the OEM Jpipe (flaring) to reduce backpressure and make it flow the same, if not better, than a Midpipe...

I agree if you compare the Rotax Racing setup to the stock un modified 08 style setup but do you think if you were running a modified 08 style water box with the mid pipe you would see more power than the J pipe setup???

Just asking as Im thinking of doing something custom but along the lines of the 08 style setup on my boat. Guess there is only 1 way to find out. R88

Sweet I would think that there are some gains but it all depends how much as to weather I will bother undertaking any further exhaust mods. R88
