Honestly keep the stock plate you can not beat it for all arround conditions.

I had both the Riva and R&D plate on my 250X. The Riva is much faster when it's smooth water but it's like riding a pogo stick when it gets much over 1' of chop. If you are riding offshore, I'd keep the stock plate on it.
I liked the R&D plate because it gave some extra speed over the stock plate but still rode well in the chop. I also had a 2* wedge with the Riva plate and a 1* with the R&D. There are several wedge/plate combos to choose from depending on the conditions you ride in.

If you ride in any significant chop stay stock unless you like the sound of your engine bounceing off the rev limiter. TBM PLate is still up in the air for me.

You may also look into the Jims Performance Mod to the stock plate, it seems to give the best all around bang for the buck........
