Idle speed to high
Help! My 2005 GP1300 R is idling way too fast and I don't know how to set it properly. Its idling at about 2500 on the water. It has always been a little fast but seems faster after tearing it apart and replacing the cylinder #3. I also took out the catcon.
Where do I start.

You didnt pressure test the engine it sounds like. Air leak.

Each cylinder has 125.
How do I test for an air leak.

You need an EFI pressure test kit. Get one from Lowell Horning....

By pressure testing you are checking if you have a leak in any of the gaskets areas. base gasket carbs cases. if you have a leak you will run the ski lean and be rebuilding it again .....shortly. Most kits consist of precut metal block offs and a hand pump that allow you to pressurize the crank case . This is a must do for any rebuild . it's best to do it on the bench before the install .
