    HELP! winter mods suck

    I just got back from testing my winter mods and here are the problems. 75' air temp and 46' water temp.

    Before winter mods ( see signature) I was running 71mph @ 8160 rpm.

    Today with new mods (see signature) my best was 66.2mph @ 7760 rpm.

    What's up with that shit?

    Also after I rode for a bit my idle rpms were 3500! way too fast to dock. I ran it on the hose a few times the last couple of days checking for leaks and stuff and the idle was good. Now on the hose it's at 5000 rpm.

    Stock charger with less than 30 hours on rebuild.

    you have WAY to much prop.... youll need 42's and bigger charger to run that 15/20

    on the IC did you put a bolt in both sides ? one side for the mounting bracket -- and the other side with a bolt -- if not you are loosing pressure from the side that doesn't have a bolt in it -- plus have you double checked for any pressure leaks around the clamps and fittings on the IC ? and with the idle being high -- make sure there isn't something causing the throttle to return all the way --- interference --- rusty throttle cable etc...

    A vacuum leak will cause the idle to be high. Loss of RPM may be caused by a boost leak and low WOT RPM. The block off plate where the stock intercooler used to be would be my 1st guess. I would recommend you pull it and reseal it with RTV.

    My throtle cable is at full return when I checked it and it was running @ 5000RPM.

    Everyone told me before I did this that the 15/20 would work with my mods with some tweeking.

    The second bolt is in the IC.

    How do I check for leaks?

    You simply don't have the power to turn that prop,to make things worse you added a 81mm ring,cost's even more rpm's.
    Put an x charger and 42's on and see where your at.
    This setup won't work.

    What is the best thing to seal the stock ic blockoff with? I don't know what RTV is.

    Ultra black silicon gasket sealer. Sorry... Idle high with throttle completely close is most likely a leaking block off plate. Air is being sucked in when the throttle is closed
