I cant get the pump assembly to slide off, what holding it on? All bolts are out and I did not take the ride plate off. Did I miss something?

It is a bitch to get off. There is some sealant on there. One guy got a truck and hooked it up to the back of his ski and yanked it off. I was able to get a flat head screw driver underneath and I used a mallet and banged it in and slowly got it off. If you lay down underneath you will see a small small spot for your strong flat head.

Once you get the pump off...wait until you try to get the impeller off. Mine was on so tight it was not funny. I used ANTI SEIZE after that. But that does not work well as I thought. I was at the World Finals going from Pit to Pit and people tried to help me out. Finally Kenny Sims (Yamaha GPR Tuner) got a 6 foot fence post and got it off.

I hate taking that thing off

Most likely silicone. Take the ride plate off and pry between tabs, upper left and lower right corners.

    HAHAHAHAhahahaha...... !!!

WTF, a truck! OMG! Umm he must have been from the deep south and had a little to much to drink.

It's really not that hard to get off. There is a place to use a small prybar or a screwdriver to seperate the pump housing from the pump shoe without to much cussing. If you take the ride plate off it will be so much easier!

when i took mine off the first time, it is sticky due to the silicone/sealant.
but, i have never used a truck to remove the pump. sound like a good way to damage the assembly, unless it was a r/c truck.

Does the drive shaft need to be re-greased before I put it all back together?

Yep--I believe they say to use spline grease. And don't forget the anti-sieze on the impeller threads.
