    Warming your Ski

How long do you guys usually let your ski warm up before hauling ass? And do you just let it idle? Stay under 4k RPMs?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Usually let it idle for 5 minutes on the trailer or idling along in the water.

I'm running an open loop setup that is way too cold.

Think it'll need to be re-routed this winter!

Oops, should have included the ski model.. It's a 4tec.

How is your situation? When we launch, we have a no wake zone so by the time you get there, I would think it is ok to let it rip

We launch our ski`s into our local river, which is at the top end of our harbour.
We normally run in salt water and it usually takes us a good 2 or 3 minutes to get from our slipway into the sea, so we probably run ours for 5 minutes, before any wot stuff.

haha when i leave my ski on the water at my house its a solid 30mins to fast water..... well warmed up by then. if im at the lake i do about 3 minutes at idle and then shoot across the lake (about 500 yards each way) around 4000 and call it good. although i wouldn't call it completely warmed up parts wise if you have an afr gauge you can watch it go from cold start mode (super rich) to warmed up as well!

Mike... where you live, we have to dive in the water a couple times from the 5 mph buoy to the yacht club, just to avoid heat stroke.

It's a long haul for sure!
