Having a problem with my GP
I am having a problem with my 03 gp1300r
At full blast the ski begins to try and jump out of the water slightly (basically skipping along).
Now when I reach this point of speed and the ski goes slightly air born for a fraction of a second each jump, I hear a terrible metal on metal noise and a strong vibration. At this point the ski is trying to shut itself down. I normally hit the kill switch as fast as I can, then wait and restart it and everything seems fine.
Now I am going to take a guess and say something is wrong along the lines of the drive shaft.. maybe a slight bend?
I did notice marks on the drive shaft where it was sitting on the bearing while I had it out 2 change the impeller…
(Short history ~ I changed the impeller + housing due to damage. I went from a 4 blade to a 3 blade. This is when I first noticed this problem. I then went back and re-changed the impeller from that 3 blade back to the stock style 4 blade)
so my guess is change the drive shaft and maybe even that bearing???
What do you guys think?
