Do you need the VTS EXT with the Wedge or?

Do you need to have both to get the benefits or?

    Thinking about trying one out.

I asked that over the winter and was told to get one, so I did.

Yes, you cant get the full range of adjustment without it. My PX seems to have its best top speed with the trim all the way up.

yup, need one! a wise man (jp1300, gotta give credit when due) once told me the riva extension comes "pre-set" but it may be worth checking your truely getting full nozzle up! pretty much hook it up, click vts to full up position, and make adjustments to the extension as necessary. in my opinion it adds to speed but made my px turn like a bus! takes some getting used to.

Thats what those trim presets are for. Going into a turn, hit the down preset, coming out hit the up preset. You want to turn like a bus. Try riding a PX one day, then a TX with the wife on the back the next day. If only everybody had such problems.

rxp with wedge and no extension

anyone have any inputs with the wedge without an extension rod?

can you still trim all the way down for the holeshot and trim up without any cavitation with the wedge installed?

i ran the stage one set up without the 2 degree wedge last season and i felt like i was getting sprayed so much more and felt the ski was nose heavy, especially taking sharp turns.

Yeah, I'm not running the extension. I've got the Riva 2degree. My sweet spot is two hashmarks below midpoint on the VTS indicator at top speed. I don't do any drag racing so - It's not a huge deal that I'm not getting the best hole shot possible. I'm still getting used to the feel of the wedge as it takes a bit of getting used to... I do like the fact that I can run it all the way up and hit some fair sized chop without getting splashed. It still handles good enough if I run the nozzle all the way down I can still manoeuvre sharply... so I'm fine without the extension rod.
