    Petrol RON - Octane ratings

Hi I have a 2009 260x I have just come back from the USA and Petrol in most stations Petrol RON is 85,87 & 91 RON.
However is the RON - Octane rating the same in OZ as our Petrol starts at 91,95 and 98.

If the rating is the same why would we in Australia be advised to put in a minimum of 95????

I think anywhere outside the USA advertizes gasoline as RON only. In the states its RON+MON/2. (98 Ron + 88 Mon = 93 Octane) So your 98 Ron is our 93 octane in the states.

Ive been researching this for you and I'm stuck because RON he is only 65 years old not 85,87 or 91 maybe hes not the right RON.

    Thanks Scott.

So if in the states I only found Petrol Pumps tagged as 91 as the highest than how do you go about getting Premium equivalent to our 95 or 98 RON ???

Most around here (on the east coast of the states) is either 92 or 93 octane for the most part. We do have a 94 here and there too... I honestly don't see much 91 anymore.
