    Ethanol Problems/Solution

Yamalube has a new product out that can help solve all those problems with ethanol (E-10) fuels. Too bad I wasn't using it before my carburetor gummed up....

Wonder if this is any better than the blue marine formula STABIL.

    It looks to be cheaper.

    Im using this currently.

I trust Stabil and I now use the blue stuff in everything. I did some fuel blending in a formula lawsuit and the Chemist for the lawfirm had me add Stabil to the blends to preserve them while we were waiting to go to trial. He sent me a 55 gallon drum of Stabil.

one of our local gas stations

is now prouldy displaying a banner that says "no ethanol and 87 octane"..didn't notice if the price was higher, but even if it is, it's going to sell well after the problems we'vehad here for the last couple of years.

I'm happy the station/shop owners took it serioulsy enough to order the fuel sans ethanol.

There seems to be a few 'new generation' of fuel stabilizers with stronger claims regarding Ethanol.

What is missing is any kind of competent, independent and scientific comparison of the various products and their effectiveness.

Almost everything I read is either claims by the manufacturer, or testimonials without baseline comparisons. Testimonials are often near worthless, in terms of comparing products.

Another thread recently discussed K100MG fuel treatment.

And of course that old-school SeaFoam stuff always seems to come up

    the only stuff I use

is pure 100% desert monkey spit, it actually increases viscosity, reduces tarnish and spoilage and makes food last longer then burial in a hole.

Of course the PETA folks prevent me from making any scientific claims, since testing is out of the queston, but you gotta trust me....

this stuff works! and it NOT in any way shape or form associated with gorilla glue(tm)

All kiding aside I'll be sure to use the zero ethanol fuel my local boys are selling ( and don't think I'm not going to test it to see if there is actually zero ethanol in it. ) Seems that season before last we got a load of gas up here somewhere that was certainly 20-30% ethanol the way boats were crapping out all over town. Simple mixing problem at the terminal methinks..they mixed for a 10k load, but surprise..it was a 5k load (oops)

Are you going to check the actual octane level?

Not sure how to do that, short of a laboratory.
