    Rxt-x or rxt-s is?

I'm looking to buy a new ski. I just wanted people opinion. which jet ski would u buy for the 255hp. The rxt-x or the rxt-x IS. Has anyone owned both. How is the independent suspension? Does it feel much smoother. How reliable is it. Can anyone tell me the major diff. I'm a newbie to these jet ski. I do own a 96 seadoo gsx, but i want something new now because my old ski keep repairing and i am fed up. Would the 2 seater be good like a rxp-x? My old gsx always feel so light and when i idle it always feels like it trys to sink. I know the newer ski is much heavier and more stable. I don't want to tip over when i am stopping my ski that is why i want to buy the 3 seater. So is the rxt-x better or the rxt-x is? I don't mind paying the extra $1000 if it is a lot better.

you need to consider where you ride? New Hull is supposedly great in the chop and is a good ride, last years T-X had tunnel issues, and the P-X is a great ski, if you ride solo and dont mind getting beat up. Lots of people will prob chime in here, but if you got the $$ to drop i say go with the RXT-X 260

The newest RXT-X is a totally new model for 2010 and it has 260 hp.
Your decision on 2 seater vs. 3 seater depends on whether you tow boards or tubes (some states like Florida it is illegal to tow with a 2 seater) and whether you require top performance in the chop. (3 seaters have always dominated rough water). 2008-2009 T-X had tunnel cracking issues, do some searches here for more info. The newest T-X has a better weight to horsepower ratio than the iS model, but ANY of the RXT models will provide excellent stability, and they won't throw you off on your azz in stock form and injure you, like the new Yamahas.

Never heard about such a thing and I very much doubt that this is true, Surely Yamaha would have addressed something so serious in the 2010 models if it was the case. I think this happens either to people who mod it or to those who are inexperienced and blame the ski.

Thanx for the quick reply. What is the diff between the 255 is & the 260 Is? Isn't the hull and everything the same except 5hp. For $2000 less i would get the 255 is. I live in Canada toronto and the ski here are $14.900 Can plus feight, tax and etc... Comes to $17.000 with tax no trailer.

I have the IS 2009 and must say that its a dream to run. But as they all say in here, what is your use area? I bouth my for long trips with possibe big chops on the way. Are you using it mostly in calm areas with playing and fun all the time maybe the Rxt-X is better for you, I have never tried one of these, but realy like the new T-X.

Actually i use it in big waves. I like to go to the choppy waves and jump over the waves. The calm areas i don't mind once in a while. So i think the 3 seater is more suitable for me because i like the choppy waves correct?
So how does the IS suspension feel? I heard u can adjust the softness & hardness on it.

Yes you can adjust the suspensione, but the IS is the heavy maskine and maybe the slowest of them all out of the hole, as they say, so i think the T-X is the way for you to go. But i have not tried others skis so maybe other in here can say more about it... Read this also http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=93951 spesialy rule nr 6......

It's a grate problem. I'll let the Yamaha owners speak for themselves, most of these were stock watercraft...

"I was pegged out on a lake and all of the sudden, it's as if I hit a stump!!! Next thing I know, I am airborne and then bouncing off the water. This was really fun doing 68-70 whatever my new stock ZR runs. I've read about stuffing and getting bucked but with a stock ski? Gonna be a while before can ride again. Make sure you change the grate!!! You dont want to be recovering from a surgically repaired torn bicep like I am thanks to getting tossed. Just figure it in to the cost of the ski because it is a must."

"I was riding this pm on clear waters my FZS stock, about 68 mph and suddenly stuffed, I was tossed off, landed about 25 yards from my ski. everything so fast. Now I have a hematoma in my back (big one) and multiples pains and aches. I will like to know if this may happen again, I am worry because i am just waiting for my RIVA Mods. This situation can end in seriuos injuries and even death. May be Yamaha shuoild be aware of this."

"I was riding my FZ on light wind ripple on my local river, and towards the top end it started getting squirrely. Almost felt like it was about to do what is called a "tank slap" with the handlebars, but on a motorcycle. I quickly, but gradually, let off the throttle, I didnt chop it. I have read this thead and that advice came in handy. Thank you... that was one of those moments where I had to sit there on the ski, idling for a few minutes, until the "hand shakes" went away"

"Guys, we had another FZR rider get thrown off yesterday due to overstuffing. Just riding along sitting on the seat and not chopping the throttle it still stuffed. His shoulder is pretty messed up, it was out of the socket for 24 hours before they were finally able to put it back. Surgery may be required."

"I would be very interested in reading updates on this. I had it happen to me and slammed the bars thinking I hit a sandbar off Tybee Island. When I went back over my route I had plenty of water and no scratches on the hull. I still have a jacked nerve in my neck, a sprained wrist and saw stars for well over a minute."

I had to swim about 25meters to grab my ski. That was the second time but first time i put it down to turbulent water. I was very sore the first time because I was riding with other riders later in the day( so I wore my Helmet ) Big mistake. Second time Definately was the ski..." (stock FZS)

I have since added a R&D intake grade and at 76 I have had not more bucking problems. Take it from me getting hurt is not worth the cost of a R&D intake..."

"YOU WILL NEED an aftermarket grate because of the lift the plate will give the ski, And the stock grate already is known for bucking people of at stock form so don't try the plate till you have an aftermarket grate."
