Texas Title Question
Howdy Texan Ghers:
I'm considering buying a hull for a conversion. The hull is in Texas. The gent said he has no "paperwork"... I think he got it from a friend that owned a shop maybe?
Does Texas title PWCs? What should I ask for to verify ownership?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Yes, Texas requires a title. Check out the tags at the link below to see who's on the registration and then call Texas Parks and Wildlife to see if it's reported stolen and also ask them how to transfer the title.

OK, my Texan drawl aren't none too good, but thanks guys for replying to this thread. Thanks also to WFO for the PM info.
I haven't sealed a deal yet - just fact finding. And I'm pretty OCD about titles, registrations and supporting documents. It's either got to be 100% legit. or no deal. I wouldn't dump 1 peso, even in a free hull, only to have the law tell me "it's stolen" 5 years down the road.
If it works out - I'll post up. And, thanks again...

I would agree Tx requires titles and I get checked on regular basis. If it's coming from Texas it should have a paper trail. Would not get title very easy I tx without it. Good luck!
