    SHO Bashing about on trailer!

    Hi,

I drove last night 170miles towing my ski and all the way back on out lovely british SMOOTH roads the skit was banging about and making hell of a racket.... its on a roller coaster bramber trailer.... i checked all the straps and they were tight and i even pulled over to recheck... but when i got home the rear one that goes through the rear eyes was loose and had not been undone...

what i cant see is how it come loose and also if it would of caused any damage.. the hull dont look marked..

any ideas and shall i get it looked at?

    thanks ian

Post some full size pictures of your trailer, and how you are strapping it down.

Perhaps the trailer is flexing and working the straps loose.

If its a single trailer and your driving faster than 65+ sometimes trailer and ski bump up and down... and for a 170 mile trip, it might wear the strap and loosen it up a bit. Post some pic's.

Mine can loosen up a tad just driving 3 miles to the lake.
(Also, helps if I stay on the road)

The pull type straps always loosen up. I use these from Westmarine. The 2' ones are perfect length on my SHO. They have a rubber sheath on the back of the buckle to prevent it from marking the hull & a velcro strap that prevents it from opening on rough roads. I've put 1000's of miles with these on the trailer & never had them get loose.

Got a pic of the bow stop? If it's positioned too low the ski might've started riding up on the stop under braking with those roller bunks.
