    Compression dilema

I've got the head and cylinder off from the front piston with 30# compression. The head is in good shape as is the cylinder, the piston has a minor scape line on the side. The head gasket was broken half way around the bore hole about 1/8th in inch wide. I'm thinking maybe leaking there?? On top of the piston is the number h79k6, 0.50mm, whats this mean? This machine looks to be worked on recently, as the gaskets look new. I've only had the jet ski a couple weeks. I think I'll just put new rings on that piston and bolt it together. Where can I find rings and the gaskets needed. Thanks

44 if you're going to go that route (we've all done it al least once) search a post here, some of the guys have some spare cylinders BUT you'll need to measure your piston and make sure of its size. Sounds like you are running oversize and will probably need Wiseco to fill that request??

What is the year and model??

Maybe before you tear it down, check the crank index. Check your fuel supply to the carbs, with the age pumps, hoses and filters will be an issue.

    compression dilema

I'm goin to install all new hoses, fuel oil, and coolant. I also have a triple pump coming for it. I'm going to mic the piston and cylinder and have a tech check out the cylinder to make sure it's ok as is. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, have everything checked out like Al mentioned, before just throwing new rings in it. Hopefully you can get by with just rings, but I'd be prepared for more.
