Your best bet would be to find a set. With the proper prep paint would be fine, but you need to use a flex agent/ adhesion promotor. Materials can get expenseive and it's time consuming. Do you have spray guns, air ect?

I'm sure it can be done with a rattle can but you wouldn't catch me doin it.
Save your time and money just try and find yourself a good set.

i heard that if they sand and paint it professionally that it works great... i tried mine and completely destroyed them so I am going to purchase the black ones from the oem website. i think they are around 100.00. which is HIGH for molded plastic in my opinion.

Yeah a $100 bucks is a bit much for a piece of plastic, but on the other hand you will easily spend a 100 bucks on good materials ( ppg or dupont) plus lots of time.

Not a professional job but for less than 20 dollars, I took my time and sanded them then used 4 coats of krylon fushion spray paint made for plastics..then 2 coats of krylon clear coat and came out flawless..did the side grills, the front grill, the two on the steering, the one around the cluster, and the rear grab bar and no paint flaking so far or fading
Has looked good for two years so far... my 2 cents
If you wanna go the cheaper route

Here is my 2 cents. I put black grills on my PX, one splash of gas on them and they are messed up. The chrome ones hold up better to gas anyway. I think I am going to try and paint my black ones and see how they turn out.
