Need complete motor turbo for a MSX110

Long story but my brother has a MSX110 and it is just a HULL. Any suggestions on where to get a used motor and turbo assembly for this thing? Seems like they are no where to be found. If not any hopes in retrofitting something else in there? Its seems nuts that should disaster strike in one of these things you are left with just a hull????

    Where are you located?

    Call Randy at Watcon.com

There are several variations of the Weber turbo engine used in other applications (snowmobile, off-road). With some work, those engines can be fitted to the MSX configuration.

The MSX 150 version is the same Weber 750cc engine, with a different ECU and some differences in the boost system.

There is available an ECU re-programming that can boost power of both the MSX 110 and MSX 150 versions.

Weber now has an 850cc version of the engine, but I don't know if it can be fitted into an MSX configuration.

Another alternative is to convert the engine to either a Polaris 2-stroke, or a Sea-Doo 4-Tec conversion.

Polaris sold a 2-stroke model, the MSX 140, which happened to use Ficht fuel injection. Others have converted their MSX to carburetor 2-stroke. You can find more info on these in the MSX/Matrix and Polaris Projects sections.

The Performance Conversion forum has a few threads covering the 4-Tec engine conversions into MSX hulls.

Thx for the tips man! I am located in NJ. Well as you stated it seems there are a few options aside from tossing this hull. The last question I have for you in your honest opinion... is it cost effective to do this work? I mean lets say you sell the hull for 500 bucks..put that towards the purchase of a used ski that costs 4500...you are basically spending 4000. Is it gonna cost 5 grand to put a hybrid motor or something into this hull? I mean if one of these retrofits is gonna make more power than a stock replacement... thats another story!!

Well, the entire PWC hobby isn't exactly cost-effective
    But neither is most boating

You would have to ask Randy or Jay (4strokepolaristech) about the cost effectiveness aspects.

Certainly a boosted and EMM reflashed MSX 150 engine would really wake up your MSX 110 hull (same hull as the MSX150).

The good thing about the MSX and Weber engine combo is that the hull has good looks and nice handling, and the turbo engine is fairly fuel efficient for a PWC, even when tuned for more power.

A 4-Tec engine conversion is going to cost at least as much as putting another Weber engine in that hull, with more custom work to get it all installed and working.

The 2-stroke engine option would probably be less expensive, and you would end up with something very similar to the stock MSX 140 version Polaris made. Again, some custom work would be involved, but much less than the 4-Tec.
