Input On My Pump/Misc Upgrades
Ok so as some of you have surely seen, I have been piecing together the parts for my HO pump upgrade. Of course, one thing has led into another and I just keep buying more parts from the left and right....
So prior to riding, I just wanted to post everything up to have some of you experts give your opinions on whether I missed something or whether my choice is pieces was stupid
- 2000 GP1200R
- R&D Rideplate Jims Cut
- RIVA 1200 Intake Grate
- 2004 Intermediate Shaft
- 1300R Waterbox
- 2005 1300R OEM Impeller
- 1º Pump Wedge (next week)
- 2000 OEM 87mm 5º Nozzle
- 2005 HO Pump
- 2" Extension
- O'Side Bill Extensions
- Pump Tunnel Reinforced
- Upgraded Shoe Inserts
- WFO Intake Bracket
Ok so keep in mind that this will be a conversion ski next winter, so that is the reason there is no engine mods. The only things I have considered doing is getting a Tiny Tach and maybe FA's. Other than that... is there anything I am missing from my setup?

Just dawning on me, I haven't done the pump seal yet...
Guess I need to find a local hobby shop to do the $20 DIY method.

milled head (option)
try an 85mm and 87mm nozzle, get rpm reading, then see were you are for the right prop.

Cool, just something to keep you on the water till the conversion. I would keep it simple then.

Might as well upgrade the rideplate brackets while your in there too.
Don't forget to get the longer bolts for the 2" extension.
Also get the upgraded driveshaft hose from WFO when you get the intake mount.
Just did all this on my '01

Why are you using the 1300 water box?

I'm running the 1300R box because alll of the baffles broke loose in my 1200R box. I was offered the 1300R box for a good price so I bought it. I did some reading that there could be some speed lose or not at all... But I'm already not expecting crazy numbers.

Well I finished with all of the mods and lost 8mph. I guess I need to address a few concerns with the rideplate and intake grate.
Last year I was running 66.7mph, this year 58.9mph.
R&D Rideplate with Jims cut
Rive 1200 intake grate
1* pump wedge
05+ HO Pump (with plastic wear ring)
1300R OE Impeller
When I removed the pump shoe the "foam" or whatever it was to seal it up was all beat up so it's not MIA. I know that is one of the causes of the cavitation. I need to do the pump shoe seal kit and figure out what to do about the missing seal on the pump shoe. I highly doubt that would take away 8mph though.
I have the ride plate shimmed to where it is flush across the bottom of the hull as well.
Any and all input would be great at this point.
