    regulation mirrors for towing

Want to see if anyone can give advice for this problem. I have a GTX Seadoo that has right and left mirrors but are traditional size (app. 3 x 3). I am in Texas and am having problems with Park and Recreation Gestapo for towing an inflatable because the mirrors are not the qualifying size of at least 4 x 4 square or larger. I have looked online at various aftermarket mirrors and have not found any that meet this criteria that could be mounted on my ski. Has anyone else run into this problem and what solutions have you found?

    Thanks

I had the same discussion w/my friend last week. He happens to be a LDWF agent. So this really only regards LA Law: A PWC towing a boarder/tuber must have a spotter and an available seat for the ONE person being towed. IE you have to have a 3 seater to tow one person: A driver & a spotter.

The exception to the above rule is a 2 or 3 seater, w/a driver only and pulling only ONE person, and the PWC has a 7" x 9" Convex mirror attached to it. I'm yet to see that mod (big mirror) and doubt it would be very attractive.

Well thanks for the responses (even tho no help lol). Texas law is 1 spotter and 1 rider for 3 person PWC or no spotter, 2 riders AND 4 x 4 mirror. So back to the drawing board

I imagine the larger mirror does not have to be permanent.

Perhaps you can find a suitable mirror from the automotive aftermarket or trailer towing departments of your local stores, and work out a temporary/removable mounting.

Bungee or Velcro material to hold it over the stock mirror, perhaps.
