Steering nozzle question?
Curious if people are changing or modding the stock nozzles on the FZ boats. It is oval from the OEM and wonder if boring it out to a round exit has shown any benefit. I know this was done for the GPR platform but havent heard much on the FZ series.

The problem with simply boring out the OEM steering nozzle is then the diameter gets too large. If diameter is too large the steering gets sloppy and speed will be reduced.
So it is best to either:
use the stock oval OEM steering nozzle as is
or bore the steering nozzle out and then insert a SS ring the correct diameter. I had a small number of nozzles made up this way and I still have a couple available for sale if you are interested.
Some people prefer the tighter steering control of the oval nozzle, others like myself, prefer to have the small speed gain the round nozzle provides.
Here is a picture of my nozzle with the SS ring.

I use the oem nozzle bored out and it has a SS ring installed to make it round and back to original size for my FZR that I got from Philip-gpr it works great! well worth the money IMO, Tommy Jordan
