Thread: Throttle adjustment

I just hit the five hour mark with my new x boat. I pulled the top cover off the motor just to give everything a look and check clamps ect.
I noticed the throttle cable has alot of slop and takes quiet a bit of pull to tighten up and begin to open the throttle body. Up at the throttle lever it has the required play range in it as per the oem manual. This should be a no brainer but this is my first 4 stroke so I want to be sure. Because of the slop in the cable the throttle body doesn't open all the way, it stops short almost an eighth of an inch from the stop on the throttle body. I'm assuming at wot it should be open all of the way and be resting on the stop.
Just want to check before I adjust it. Thanks

i just went through this but i switched to a diffrent lever. get some string ziptie ect ect and tie the throttle WOT and look inside the TB. the throttle plate inside should open to 90deg's no more no less and it shouldnt hit the stop when open.
