    Question 2001 virage spark problems

    Hey everyone,
    So i was given this jet ski on a trailer for free by a friend and was told its needs a new "computer". ive started to get into working on it and have come to a dead end. there is no spark it cranks over strong.the only thing i can see it inside the electrical box there is some slight oxidation. Is there any common electrical problems with these models? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Is it a two cylinder or three? Is it a tx or txi?

    Carburetor or fuel injection?

    Check the battery voltage while cranking the engine. Must be over 10.6 volts, or you will not have spark.

    its carbureted, checked the voltage while cranking and it is over 10.6

    Carburetor three cylinder domestic engine;

    It is possible the CDI has failed, or there is a problem with the stator. However, start with the basics, and work through everything electrical.

    Make sure the ground and battery cables are clean and tight at both ends. I would remove them, clean and re-attach. Sometimes there can be corrosion hidden.

    Check the grounds in the electrical box. Every Black wire and ground tab should measure zero ohms the engine block.

    Next check for full voltage at the CDI. The Red/Purple wire that goes into the CDI module must also have over 10.6 volts while cranking.

    My ohm-meter measurements don't exactly agree with the service manual specifications. Is this OK?
