    15/20 vs 15/22

Anyone know how many mm approx. are added to a Solas 15/20 to make it a 15/22?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Lord Jerry,

You just love those easy questions don't ya?

My ribs are healing finally but it still hurts to sneeze.

    Idiot here.

    That mean that a 14/19 +3mm is actually a 14/22 (approx)?

    Or a 15/20 -1mm is really a 15/19 (approx)?

No you only bend the trailing edge for dialing in the rpm's,to change to a real 14/22 , bend it to 22 degree trailing edge.
+ or - 1 mm is used for dialing in the rpm's.

Thanks for the reply. I put a 15/20 on a TX with just a 4" intake, free flow exhaust (R&D) and R&D intake grate. Went out Sunday in 60 degree water and 70 degree air. Ski ran 8200 rpms @ 3/4 to 7/8 throttle. Physically, the 15/20 looks to have a trailing edge that's about 1mm shorter than the stock prop, which doesn't really mean anything due to the design of the 15/20. I wanted to pitch for 7900 in the hot weather, 8000 in warm weather and 8100 in cooler weather. I'm thinking I need to add about 1mm to the prop making it a 15/21. I am running the stock venturi and exit nozzle.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Mark,
This past summer I set my 15/20 right next to my 15/22 and did a side by side comparison. The only difference was approximately 2mm on the training edge. Aside from training edge they are both pretty much the same. I felt kinda stupid because I bought the 15/22 to replace the 15/20. Someone got a perfect 15/20r out of the classfieds for a great price. .

At solas they didn't invent a new prop.

They just used the proven 15/20 and did a bit of bending and created the new 15/22 r prop to satisfy the x-guys.

Save your money ,and start bending,it's only a few mm.

I've actually read on here that solas DID create a new 15/22 and it has a different root angle.

I think Duke and Jim were in on that conversation..... and of course JAWZ.
