damn idle set screw fell off, help

hey guys i just got done doing a carb rebuild and im an idiot and backed off the idle adjuster too far and now its sitting in the hole but wont thread back in, so basically the only way to put it back on is to pull the exhaust again and intake box and then the carbs again? or is there an easier way?

no easy way, i was able to do it by pulling the u pipe, it wasnt easy but better than pulling the stinger, air box & carbs

that u pipe will come out of there with that bracket for the servo still in place, you will need to remove the servo motor, but the bracket can stay, you just need to turn the pipe & fish it out of there, im putting my upipe back in tonight & that bracket is still bolted up, & you can use the gasket over put a little marine grease on the gasket & it will be fine

really it will come out with the bracket on? i wrestled with that bitch before and i couldnt get it out, but ill give it a shot. and theres only like 2 mins of running time on the gasket so unless its a crush type gasket im sure its ok.

I just had something similar happen. I installed new carbs and after they were in realized I never installed the idle adjuster.

With the Stinger and airbox still out (carbs hooked up), I was able to set the idle screw in place. You need to feel on the front carb for where the idle adjuster screws into. It's inline with the throttle plate linkage. ONce you get it started you can continue screw with the knob.

So you don't have to remove your carbs, just your stinger and airbox.
