    Exclamation 1050 polaris hydroplane

this is my 4th year racing hydroplanes, but it is my first year trying it with a 2 stroke. i just put a 1050 polaris out of a 96 sltx. the motor was a bad motor so i actualy ordered another one which should be coming in soon. figured i just had to post this and let everyone know there is a 1 ltr hydroplane class that runs 2 strokes!

also! if anyone has any 1050 speed secrets, or speed parts or even motors let me know!

That is bad ass, we need videos and pics, don't be stingy!

Mill the heads for more compression, new carbs/reeds, maybe some port work to get it up and really flying? If you got the bucks, do tripple pipes! I've heard its good for 20 or 30 horses.

Post up in the Polaris performance section and I'll bet you'll get more response.

There are tons of stuff that can be done to the 1050 and 1200 engines different cylinders, heads, porting specs, carbs, ingitions, Pipes ext.

There are Big Bore kits for the 1050 that I have done 1235cc and 1200 to 1277cc both with stock strokes 68mm on the 1050 and 70mm on the 1200.

You can upgrade your 1050 to a 1200 by installing a 1200 crank and cylinders or just boring out your 1050's
There are a lot of cylinders out there with Exhaust PowerValves for better bottom end that can alow you to Port them and still have good low end power.
Just tons of good stuff to do to these engines

I have a set of Triple Pipes for sale 600.00 shipped in the lower 48 states.

Are there plans to build a boat like that, or are those premade?

i know if you are using the stock ignition system, i would look and see if you have the updated ignition system, if not the old ones are not reliable,

if you need too stay in thee 1. liter class.. heads, re curved cdi and tripple pipes come too mind first! and big carbs!

How large a displacement are you allowed to run in the 1 liter class?

How much power do you think you need to be competitive?

    Awsome!!
    How fast is it?

I have been wanting to build something like that with a Rotax 4-tec1500cc engine. Just for the fun of it...

How much do I have to pay for a boat with no engine?

    Welcome

Welcome to the Hulk Awesome Austin. That's a sweet ride you got there.

There's a couple of guys around here that have played with the Hydros a bit, as far as motor setup anyway. A couple of fuzzy pics from a guy racing in New York. He's running valved cylinders with Sharps marine heads and a custom single exhaust.

There's a lot you can do I guess, just a matter of figuring out the best Hydro setup.

    Again, welcome.
