Question Please Help Me Decide on FA's

Hey all, so im looking at my next mod for my ski, the Flame Arrestors. So many types, brands, and little info other than theyre better then the competition. Can anyone comment on

    RIVA: http://www.rivayamaha.com/RivaStore/...Arrestor%20Kit

K&N RACE FLAME ARRESTOR KIT: http://islandracing.net/xllxlt.html

The R&D Power Plenum Air Filter Kit

    Anything else?

Honeslty, i do not believe that with any of those systems the differences would be significant. May be wrong? I am considering the K&N kit but please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks as always.

I have had great luck with Proks. They have an inverted cone inside the filter that helps stuff the incoming air. Never tried the Riva filters but im sure they all do a good job. Tau-Ceti filters are real nice also.

Just make sure your carbs are rejetted before you add FA's.

I had a question about that, im very reserved about touching the carbs. Im even thinking of leaving the stock induction system intact and not doing the FA's due to number of posts i read here of problems occuring after messing with carbs. Got an easy step by step solution for me?

    why doesn't Riva mention Rejetting?

"RIVA Flame Arrestor Kit is installed to increase airflow to motor. No internal carburetor modifications are performed. "Tamper Caps" are removed from high and low speed carburetor adjustment screws to optimize carb settings."

and what does removing the tamper caps do?

    hate being a noob

Removing the caps allows you to adjust the mixture screws. The caps are limiters for emissions reason.
