Can I run my ski without #17 in this diagram?

Taking the skis down to Florida and just realized #17 is shredded on the shaft. What does it do and can I run without it? Closest dealer that has one is over an hour away.

    Thanks!

Nose cone...Guys with aftermarket props are removing them for more speed, not sure it will work with the stock prop? Wort it will do is cavitate.

Yes... cut it off with razor knife if it's floating around the drive shaft and you're in a hurry.

Lot's of people ride without them, and there is lots of posts about this. You might just gain a MPH!

If you ride in salt you might want to replace it.

Do a search when you have some time, that way you can make your mind up on what would be best for you.

    Nose Boot

You don't really need the boot, it keeps junk out of the splines, especially salt. Some guys run without it.

great, thanks for the quick answers!

Taking the skis down to Florida and they are fresh water rxp's... I'll be sure to pick up a boot when i come back and replace it.. mean time i'll try to spray some xps in there and rinse after running them in salt.

wonder if there is anything else i might need to do aside from run it on a hose after use...
