    hydro turf any good?

any of you guys run the hydro turf replacement mats?

i have a few rivets popping outta my stock ones. Plus i wouldnt mind getn a little more grip, which i assume new mats would provide.

its like $100shipped for a full set for my 96xp.

just dont wanna waste another hundred bucks.

I have the Hydroturf mats on both my skis, one set is 4 years old and the other is 5. No problems with them, they are more comfortable and have more grip than the plastic stockers.

The prep and installation is critical to avoid future problems.

I wasnt aware that there was "cheap" hydroturf. They only have one pair per ski listed on their website don't they?

I am sorry i should have rephrased the way i stated that.

When ordering you can get the cut groved, cut diamond, for normal price. If you want the 2 tone molded or diamond it cost more.

I just installed a set of these on my 96. My biggest advice is to take your time. Don't get antsy waiting for the contact cement to dry (if you go that route) I wanted to go this way because I was more comfortable knowing the rivet holes would be sealed.

Also, use a brush putting it on, not a roller. That did not work out so well for me and I had to strip the rear corner and reapply the skim coat on that side because it caked up like crazy.

I haven't done it myself, butread they have hydroturf with the adhesive already on it. People that have used it said it works great and is much easier than brushing on the adhesive.
