    Spacer or No spacer!?

I have a 2000 pro motor with vforce reeds and it didnt have a spacer inbetween the motor and reed cage. I bought another pro motor and in my reassembly I realized i needed some parts, when i was looking @ the parts microfische 99 & 00 dont require a spacer but 97 & 98 do. Whats up with that?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

to space or not to space...that is the

yeah if someone has a pic of the one with the spacers built in that would be great! The numbers I pulled off the flywheel cover are EC78ZPWE0113942. my old cover says EC78ZPWE0124377 if that helps at all. Those are the only numbers I could find on the motor and neither of them have a stock head.

Heres a question, if I put the vforce2 reed cages in and this new motor isnt a 99 or 00 (since I dont know) do I have to put in the spacers or can i run it without them? I have a set of spacers in a box of spare parts I have. Would anything happen if i put them in and they arent needed?
