Jet Ski Reincarnation and Back River Flounder Fishing

After over 800 hrs and 200 trips my Yamaha SUV 1200 finally got tired and died the last time I took it out. I had a new engine installed and I just got it back today. I have to praise Roy of Screaming Motorsports in West Point Va. 804-843-4548. He had my PWC for a week, finished it early and for slightly less than what he quoted me. It ran great today and I feel like I have a new ride.
Today I dropped my ski in at Messick boat ramp in Poquoson Virginia, the ramp is only a couple of miles from my house. It was a little cooler today at about 55 degrees and winds were NW 15-20 but I was fishing in a somewhat protected area. I made numerous drifts along the channel of the entrance to Back River using flounder belly and live minnows. I only managed 3 small throw back flounder today but it was nice to be back on the ski and have it runnning good. I am ready to get back offshore with it again. Here are some of the pictures I took today.

did you just replace the motor with the stock suv motor? or did you go with an upgraded 4 stroke motor?

its amazing how you can go fishing and still take these awesome pictures. My waterproof point and shoot can't come close to your image quality

It is the same 2 stroke 135hp. I do not think I can easily put in a 4 stroke.

Well, it's certainly doo-able. But I think "easily" may be the key word...

BTW, Brian - Congrats on getting her back on the water and in time for some more permanent warm weather.

Wow Brian that's a great turnaround at the shop. You can't be held back from fishig. Go man go!

It would be nice to know how many issues you had on that ski with all those hours? I bet it's slim to none.

Slim to none is correct. Lots of plugs a couple of filters, that was it.

That's great news for pwc fishing. What about sucking stuff up in the impeller?

Thats awesome. 800 hours is pretty damn good. Hell here putting in a new engine would have taken 3 months at this time of year.
