vi-pec or motec??
hi whats the better and what differences are there?....also best for the money?

I was told that the Motec has "Live Telemetry" where someone can be tuning your AFRs on the beach using a laptop while you run up and down the bay.

Live telemetry to monitor they do have, not sure about remotely updating the ECU from the SHOre. I don't think so as the ECU has to reset after the updated e35 file is sent to the ECU. Could be wrong...
MoTec for support and versatility, but I am admittedly biased.

Not again! There must be a post or 2 or 3 or 4 that cover this question.

Mac search for your answer as it has been covered a fair few times and the motec guys say motec and riva guys say riva......
keep the lid on this can of worms......

Let the force be with you LUKE (when deciding the right choice of one or the other).
Heaps of info available from both sides. Some features available on one but not the other etc. etc.
Whatever you feel will best support you in England for the dollars spent.
For me it was Motec 'cause of the GH support forum, (and I've met Gary Watson and Motec Pete). But many others will swear by the other guys.
The forum( http://greenhulk.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=206 ) is perfect for "Help with Motec ECU's for Dummies" (which is me).

thanks all....i will get searching,
i love threads like this as it gets the motec guys vs the vipec guys giving all there points...
but motec does seam the more popular choice

I dont own a yammi but my choice would be motec hands down. No question. Much better support and that is very important when running a unique set-up instead of just what everyone else is doing. I heard from a couple people running the vipec that they could not open up there exhaust because riva does not have a map ready for that. I'd be willing to bet that is a non issue for the motec guys. Pete or Nils would be right ontop of that shit if there were an issue.

Both ECU's are great and both have advantages. Of course the support forum here helps the Motec guys out and we have Pete and Nils backing us.
For the Riva ViPEC guys Riva has their own support site that's a tremendous help to the ViPEC guys
They have many maps to choose from on this page
and they are working on other maps daily. It's not easy, nor quick to just throw a map together and expect it to work for all the masses. I do know they are about to release a water box and are working on finalizing the mapping for it. 14 hp gains on the dyno
